Mendoza Spa Bathroom Remodel

Goal:

A hard working client had taken on the job of remodeling his own spare bathroom to a place to relax after very long hours of working. Our client had done much of the demolition work, but found that this remodel was a bit more than he had anticipated, so he called in BCRI to take over.

Marble, expresso wood, brushed nickel and rich tones all worked together beautifully to create a very luxurious retreat for our client.

BCRI was able to provide quality craftsmanship when installing the marble on the floors, and shower enclosure, expresso vanity, all brushed nickel accessories, and a jacuzzi oversized tub.

Our client had achieved exactly what he wanted in the time frame he desired; a well deserved place to relax and enjoy TV at the end of his long work days.

Conklin Master Bathroom Before- Dark and Outdated

Conklin Master Bathroom Remodel

Goal:

A water leak in an upstairs bathroom prompted this client to think about doing a remodel while repairing the plumbing.  The decision to combine a remodel at the same time as repairing the leaky pipe was a fairly easy one, as our client already had a wish list of how their bathroom could work better for their family, and be more aesthetically pleasing.

Once the old shower was out, it was realized that there was a lot of water damage below the shower pan.  Our crew was able to quickly make the necessary repairs working late, so that the job was not pushed behind schedule.

Also present was an awkward sliding door to the master closet which abutted the sink countertop.  Moving this doorway back away from the sink not only looked much more appealing, but also functioned much better as far as access and additional space in the closet!

Outdated and dark, our clients knew they wanted many sources of light in their remodel, and an updated more efficient space.

Result:

Even though the footprint of this master bedroom was not changed, this shower area feels so much more spacious.  This was accomplished by removing the bathtub allowing the installation of an over size thick glass door.  Unifying the stone on the flooring and shower walls also added perceived spaciousness.  The tile border and change in direction of the ceramic tiling, adds visual interest and brings the eye up from the floor.

Our client wanted a feeling of luxury in the shower, and this was clearly accomplished.  A sitting bench, glass block, window and full extension flooding shower head make this shower a true retreat.

One big problem with the old bathroom was that it was always dreary and dark where the dual sinks were.  A window was not an option over the sink area.  The solution to bringing in light was a clever glass block section between the shower and the sink area (upper right of the photo) which allowed natural light from the shower area to filter in to the sink area.

The closet door was moved away from the sink area, creating a much better access to the closet, and also added more much desired space in the closet.

Conklin "Kids" Bathroom Remodel

Goal:

An incessant, recurring water leak originating from this bathroom was the compelling force behind this remodel.   After opening up the walls, it was determined that the copper piping was failing, with pervasive pinhole leaks throughout.

"A beachy light feel", easy to clean, and additional storage were the goals of our client for this second bathroom remodeling project.

Result:

Swanstone white solid surface walls replaced the tiling creating an inexpensive solution to the cleaning problem always associated with tile and grout.   Tall thick glass sliding shower doors open up this bathroom to create more visual space, and also help with cleanup by keeping the water in much better than the traditional shower curtain.

A new Kraftmaid vanity with 6 drawers created very much needed storage for the family.  The color of the new vanity, walls, shower walls all worked together to achieve the goal of a light airy beachy feel for this inland home.

Unexpected rot under shower

Mendoza Bathroom Remodel

Goal:

Our client was tired of the old dark cramped bathroom.

Everything needed an update.  The old small tiles and surrounding grout are always much more maintenance than the easy to clean solid surface options that are available today.  The smoke glass shower door, ceramic flooring and cramped sink caused our homeowners to just want to get in and out of the bathroom as quickly as possible.

More storage was desired as was more of an open and airy feel.  This vanity was overcrowded, and cramped.  The wall mirror was big and brought in a lot of light, but it was not very attractive and did not provide the much needed storage of a traditional medicine cabinet.

In older homes, it is not uncommon to discover that water has been leaking sometimes for years under showers and tubs.  A remodel allows our clients not only to enjoy a new surrounding, but also provides an opportunity to get a nice check up on what is going on under that old shower pan.  Sometimes clients claim to smell a faint odor, and sometimes there is no evidence of a problem at all.

Result:

A modern open feel was created with an updated vanity with clean lines, a wonderful dual doored oversized medicine cabinet for beautiful added storage, light bright colored Swanstone sink and matching shower, an open light blue paint, and light brushed nickel and glass accessories.

Updated ceramic 16" flooring adds to the updated feel, and three sets of lights were installed in this bathroom to provide  varying ambiances in this room.

Even though the footprint of this remodel did not change, our clients claim that their bathroom looks and feels much bigger and more spacious.  Our clients no longer rush to get through their morning routing, but linger and enjoy their time in this relaxing and peaceful space.

The Swanstone shower chosen by our client provides many nooks of storage while maintaining a great appearance, and the best part... it's so easy to clean!

Shea Bathroom Remodel

Shea Bathroom Remodel

Goal:

Our client wanted to eliminate the bathtub, get rid of the tiles (and dirt grabbing grout) on the countertop, and to brighting up this dark bathroom.  Additional storage was also desired.

Shea Bathroom After

Result:

We were able to brighten up this bathroom with the use of light colored wood, flooring, and countertops, additional lighting and oversized mirrors.  We gave our client additional storage over toilet, and behind the oversize mirror.  The bathtub/shower was replaced with a full shower stall with clear glass door to keep the bathroom feel as large as possible.

Custom tile work in the shower and on the backsplash gave a rich custom feel to this relatively inexpensive bathroom remodel.

Tuggle Bathroom Remodel

Tuggle Bathroom Remodel

Goal:

Client was happy with the layout of this bathroom, but wanted to eliminate the bathtub, update the feel, and move the shower head to the opposite side of the shower. Our client also did not like being able to see shower supplies and was considering an opaque shower door to hide these supplies.

Result:

Client chose elegant but simple cabinets, countertop, and controls  for an updated look.   The bathtub was replaced by a full length shower door.  Rather than installing an opaque shower door (which would have made this bathroom seem much smaller) we built a niche into the shower wall for storage and used a wavy clear glass on the shower door which was able to mask the look of the shower supplies. The shower head was moved to desired location, and controls were placed on far wall for easy access from outside.

Wadlund Bathroom Remodel
