	"Ed Bernardo was originally referred to us by one of his subcontractors whom we had used before. After meeting with Ed and discussing our project ideas with him we felt very comfortable with both his expertise and our ability to work with him.  In retrospect, now that the project is finished, we certainly found that our instincts were correct.  At the beginning Ed helped by suggesting quality fixtures/bathroom furniture brands to consider.  He even gave up the better part of a day taking us to some of his trusted suppliers to help firm up ideas and make purchases.   Our remodel included the master bathroom and our guest bathroom. Ed was in and out of our attic rewiring for new electrical outlets, he installed a larger window and a glass block cutout into our master bathroom wall, added a pocket door to the closet, removed old tubs and installed new shower and tub/shower enclosures, did some extensive tile work, new cabinets with sinks, new paint and flooring for both bathrooms, all in one month’s time as originally quoted!   During the project Ed encountered some unexpected plumbing problems which he quickly resolved. These problems had been plaguing us off and on for a couple of years and had not been fixed correctly despite at least two visits by professional plumbers. It doesn’t sound like much when compared to the scope of the whole project, but this is just a testament to Ed’s pride in his work and his desire to do things right the first time. It also was a huge relief to us knowing that he had taken care of it.    We found Ed and his staff to be very polite, knowledgeable, reliable, efficient, and extremely conscientious. They cleaned up at the end of every day’s work, taking the stress out of life during construction. 	"I am writing this letter of recommendation at the completion of my master bathroom remodel project.  I am very pleased with the outcome and the entire process went smoothly. You initially came to my home to take measurements, offer suggestions and followed through with an estimate just a few days later.  After listening to my needs to have an easy to clean bathroom with little maintenance to suit my busy lifestyle, you recommended a product called Swanstone, a solid surface for my bathroom shower walls and vanity.  You told me that I could see the product at El Cajon Plumbing and Bath and I was assisted there by Linda Perez who was extremely helpful to me, showing and advising me on products and styles that complimented each other, without breaking my budget.  I could not have picked such nice products out without help from both of you. The demolition of the bathroom began on schedule and was done without incident. At the end of everyday, the floor was swept-up and care was taken so as not to damage anything in the process.  After the demolition was complete, unfortunately, the sub-floor was found in very poor condition due to a leaking shower pan.  The sub-floor had to be re-built and that was accomplished during the next couple of days. I could see your craftsmanship in the wood work as you made the sub-floor very strong. Everyday, progress was made. The solid surfacing had a sleek, clean look, the shower doors fit perfectly, the vanity and sink are large and spacious, the floor tile grout lines are in appropriate places, the recessed medicine cabinet has a built-in feel, the rain shower head is luxurious and the color of the walls is a beautiful blue that makes the room have a “spa” feel to it.  You kept the project moving and on schedule and the entire project was completed within two weeks Even though you didn’t increase the size of the bathroom, somehow it feels so much larger.  You are craftsman and your work shows it. You did a professional job of installing each and every item from plumbing to cabinetry to electrical.  Your “can do” attitude was appreciated and your help with selection of products demonstrate your knowledge from years of experience. I am very pleased with my modern bathroom that even though it is small in size, it has everything I need.  I would recommend Bernardo Construction and Remodeling for any type of construction/remodeling work. 	"My kitchen was hopelessly shabby, outdated, and just plain ugly.  After interviewing several contractors, I chose Bernardo Construction to do the work.  Although the configuration of the kitchen was preserved, my job involved removal of a ceiling soffit, drywall, an updated lighting system in the kitchen and adjacent family room, creation of an eating bar, installation of all new appliances, painting, and a little bit of flooring.  I was pleased to find Ed, the owner, and Keith to be absolutely dedicated to the project at hand.  Clearly, their objective was to get the job done in a timely manner and get it done perfectly according to my specifications.  The guys were always considerate and respectful of my space, and an easy flow of communication between us made the experience quite pleasant and go as smoothly as possible.  In retrospect, I can say that the price Ed quoted me was very reasonable.  He is sincere in trying to anticipate the job in total, possible glitches and all, and dislikes piling on additional costs after the initial quote, as most others seem to do.  As a matter of fact, Ed saved me thousands of dollars and serious delays in work by suggesting alternate and superior solutions to problems encountered.  I am completely satisfied with my beautiful new kitchen.  I wouldn’t hesitate to hire Ed and company again.  They are the “good guys”!"
